Sustainable use of resources and environmental protection are close to our hearts. Despite our efforts to minimize our environmental and climate impact, greenhouse gases are inevitably emitted during a stay at the castle.

You can help us actively protect nature and the environment! Through the myclimate «Cause We Care» initiative, we offer you the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to support impactful environmental and climate protection efforts together with us.

This commitment is realized in collaboration with the Swiss foundation myclimate as part of the «Cause We Care» program.

When booking your stay or enjoying our services, you can make a small voluntary contribution to support climate and environmental protection.
Double the Impact
We match your contribution! Every euro or franc you donate is doubled by us to maximize the impact.
Concrete Actions
Part of the funds is invested directly into certified climate protection projects through myclimate. The other part is used to implement sustainability measures right here at the castle.

We are a member of a LEG – Together for a sustainable energy future!

As a proud member of a Local Renewable Energy Community (LEG), we actively support the energy transition right on our doorstep. But what exactly does that mean?

By joining together in a LEG, we consume green electricity produced directly in our local area. This protects the environment, reduces strain on the power grids, and strengthens regional value creation. The benefits at a glance:

Active climate protection: CO₂ savings through the direct promotion of renewable energies.

Promoting biodiversity at Schloss Freudenfels

For us, hospitality also means treating our environment responsibly. That is why promoting biodiversity is particularly close to our hearts. Our hotel is meant to be a place where both people and nature feel equally at home. We actively create habitats for local flora and fauna all around our property. From our wildflower meadow to water troughs for birds and bee houses – life blooms and buzzes here. This diversity not only protects the ecosystem but also offers you, as our guest, an oasis of peace and deceleration.

Our projects are regularly updated and adapted to current needs. A dedicated project team analyzes our operations every two months to develop new measures.
